Tanshi Arts is an institute dedicated to the task of promoting Art and Crafts amongst youths and children. Established by Smrity Lal in 2006, the institute strives to develop artistic talents within the younger generation. It arranges courses of various durations for the youths and children covering following areas

  • - Drawing & Painting
  • - Arts & Crafts
  • - Dance, Classical & Modern
  • - Music, Vocal & Instruments Drama

It also trains and prepares aspiring candidates for entrance into various art institutes of the country

Besides this, the Institute has been holding various workshops related to Art n Craft on a regular basis.

Regularly, for last 8 years, the Institute has been organising a fashion and lifestyle exhibition INVOGUE, thereby, providing a platform to the cottage-scale women entrepreneurs.

Tanshi Arts organises exhibition every year around the festival of Diwali, showcasing the festive mood through display of impressive hand painted diyas, puja thalis and Ganesha paintings created by the students of the institute.


Couple of years back, Smrity started the first ever Art Gallery in Dehradun viz., TANSHI ARTS STUDIO. The Studio attracts many artists, who are provided an opportunity to showcase their work, sell and paint interactively with the visitors. The studio organises lot of arts and craft workshops for children, ladies, gentlemen giving platform to artists from all age-groups to display their talent.

One of the missions of the Studio and the Institute, embodied by the zeal of Smrity, is to work towards spreading the culture of art within the society and enrich it with creative substances.

Married to Mr. Nituj Hari Har Lal, a tax consultant and a photography enthusiast and mother to two millennial children.

She is an artist/ painter who creates beautiful canvases with nature around us, landscapes, portraits, flowers, sea life in varied mediums oils, acrylics, pencil, charcoal, watercolours etc. She has an amazing connection with her brush and nature! Her work is largely inspired by the works of Monet and other artists from the Rembrandt period.

Smrity studied commercial arts from Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai and worked there as a graphic designer for ad agencies before moving northwards. She has a series of exhibition to her credit, most of which have been a great success. To count a few, she has held 3 solo art shows in INDIA HABITAT CEÑTRE DELHI and has exhibited in India Islamic Centre, New Delhi. She is a regular participant in the various art shows/ shilp kala utsavs organised at district/ state-level. Many cafes, offices, homes, hospitals proudly adorn her work in Delhi, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Agra, Dubai.

A splendid and beautiful a 16ft by 6ft artwork depicting Nanda Devi Raj Jaat Yatra was commissioned and has been installed at ONGC Geopic building in Dehradun. Besides this, her art work has been commissioned and been put up in various other establishments including those in defence etc.


Her professional achievements are well recognised and she is regularly called in to participate in various events in Northern India and is regularly called in to judge arts and craft competitions. She has been honoured , appreciated and felicitated for her work at various public functions including by
